Tips for Searching for Books in the Library Catalog
1. Search the Library Catalog for books on your subject. Library of Congress Subject Headings, called "Subjects" in the catalog, can help you search more precisely.
2. You may find books relevant to your topic in several different subject areas, such as history and music. When you find a book on the shelf, make sure you browse the area in which it was found. Often books on the same topic or subject area will be shelved together.
